Something not done with inks

Okay, I'm once again away for a long weekend. As you know, my /away scanner isn't... well, it's less than perfect, so I decided I'd do some inks while I'm here. But, it's so late it's almost early, and I just want to draw something, so this is what you get. All in all, I like it, even if it's sorta... splotchy. The composition is really blah, though.

Something familiar, yet sneaky

More Screentime for K-Zero? What's up with that?

Quite solidly in the L3 category - except for the BG, which is quite distinctly L1.

Complex poses. Purrr....

Something - related titles can be hard to come up with

I think I likes the sword, and the background. ( 's supposed to be embedded in the ground. )
Loosely based on the one Ben showed me, from WoW.

This is borderline L2, close to L3... but I didn't really put any L3 work into it. just a touch in the hair.

Thinking, like, with a BRAIN!

The title has nothing to do with the image.

Draw-erase-draw-erase-draw... You know how it goes, sometimes. This is a L1-L2 drawing - mainly L1, actually.

Hm. I guess I should tell what that means. Sometime.

L stands for 'Level', more or less. usually this has the same meaning as in D&D, but sometimes it may refer to actual layers... although, that analogy can get horribly inaccurate when you start adding multiple elements to a single image.

Basically, a sketch is anything from L1 to L3, usually, while a finished product is practically never L1 - except with inks, sometime - and rarely L2. L3 is typical, and L4 is common. L5 is where you'll usually declare "Finished!", and rarely it goes beyond that. With pencils, anyway. In digital paint, it's possible to go to L20 or something silly, but it means you're either doing hyper-realism, or you don't really know what you're doing.

Um, PuzzleScape is fun...

....

Don't ask.

Farmind
had a promo party. PuzzleScape is fun.

Something... randomness... #2, apparently.

Mainly, I just wanted to draw the mouth. Two dots in the neck make the story. I kinda like the neck. Eyes are wonky, just a bit. The hand was awful, mainly due to placement. That's why you need to do under-drawings, to figure where everything goes. Hmph.

Needed to tweak quite a bit to remove all the smudges. My old scanner BURNS everything, but my new one, sometimes unfortunately, shows even the faintest marks on the paper.

Something... randomness...

Mmmohdear...
My favourite is the top-left.

Super-minimalistic shading. Well, not really, but not much shading done, in any case. Really blah BG, and I don't know if she's coming or going. I do like this iteration of the gauntlet, though.

More to come, tomorrow. Hopefully.
So much to do....

Starting to hate myself. / Something!

Hmm. I've been on a mood upswing, and here comes the downswing.
As I'm not completely flat-broke currently, I went and bought some new pencils, since I forgot mine to the-other-place-I-was.

Not making the self-set eight hour limit really makes me... annoyed.
Oh well, here's something. A small part of what was supposed to be my warm-up sheet. Maybe it still will be, this'll mean you'll see this again.

It's not a bad drawing, all in all.

So what's going on?

Okay, I haven't kept to my schedule, which makes me sad.

Excuses -- er, Reasons:
  • I suffered a lapse of netholistic forum browsing. I've recognized the problem and am working on it.
  • Routine changes always throw me off. Going away for a week messed the schedule, getting back messed the schedule... and it seems starting to do regular exercising is also messing with the schedule
  • I do have lots of stuff to do, but I know I won't be doing it at such a pace I wouldn't have time to draw and post. So that isn't even a good excuse.
Bah. I shall draw and post something today. Within the next eight hours, or so.

Something isn't something.

Well now! This was supposed to be just a really quick, five-minute drabble. I ended up using almost an hour on this - partially due to the fact I worked on such a small size.

Note to self: Working on small size is not necessarily easier.
Well, it's something. It might've been junk, but... Meh.

I do kinda like Terra on the foreground. And that's all.

Ben's Birthday.

Happy birthday to you, and such.

I'm abusing my "I'm ten hours into your FUTURE!" powers. Ben got a big version of this one.
I'm thinking of painting something on actual paper and mailing it to him, too...
...
It's an excuse to paint something with actual brushes and such. Mmm... messy.
Trista looks really plain next to Saz --- but that's the idea, too, sorta. Variant sword, variant costume, variant hair for Trista... Saz got all the nifty shading, too, it seems.

Hmm.

View from my front door

I had this photo taken with the really crappy Monkey multimedia piece of junk, last month or so. It was on the card as I was changing my MP3s around, so I thought I'd share it.

( It's not a very good MP3 player either, but it's what I have - it helps when I go for a walk, or if I need to go... downtown, I believe is the word, which takes about half an hour on a bike, on a lazy pace. )

It's not quite that wintery anymore here, though. The camera doesn't capture the evening sun nearly nicely enough, IMO.

Oh, and: I won't be posting pictures here, for the most part. Even now I feel it's oddly... inappropriate. So consider this the exception enforcing the rule.

Cat / Links / Scanner Death / Ramble

Oookay. I didn't know my old scanner has gotten this bad. It slaughters the images.
Oh well. I'm so glad I got a new one...

Eisu who draws comics, draws another one, too. He doesn't write this one, though. It's still good, though. Hmm... Adam Warren...

It seems this will be a random musings post.

What do you do when you're having such a interesting dream you don't want to wake up?
...
Well, you sleep, obviously, and eventually you will wake up, whether you like it or not.
...
'Glomp' is a word in the catgirl language.
What? Oh, I'm building a spacefaring empire of humanoid races in my head. Occupational hazard of dungeonmastering.

Happy Easter! Part three! / Something is very Something

Hmm... Alternate universe Terra? DBZ-like character? Dunno. I tried doing another dragon pic, but it went nowhere fast. I also drew something like Ameixia, but I don't want to show that at this point. Well, the holiday's over soon, so we'll be back to your regularly scheduled programming.

One might ask, what is the difference between the tags of "something" and "junk"?
That is a good question, actually. They're actually short for sentences.
something means that "I drew something today, despite all odds!"
junk has the meaning, "I think this is junk - not as good as it should be, but I guess I'll post it anyway." Junk is... unfinished, or I was unhappy with it at the time of completion.

And now you know.

Happy Easter part two! I seem to have misplaced my bunny...

But here's a Wyrm Black Dragon instead!

The whole bunny thing isn't really Finnish, anyway. Yellow chicks are more associated with easter here, anyway.

It's Junk! Happy Easter part one!

I wonders if I can get an easter pic done.

This post was brought to you by Ben, who reminded me, I don't always need to take three hours and produce something at the very limits of my ability to keep drawing --- and that it's better to keep drawing something, even junk, as long as you don't stop.

Still, I don't have good things to say about this drawing. The gnome monk is relatively awful.

Practicing while watching.

Trying to get shape and composition down as fast as possible. Drawing hands in various poses is always useful. Drawing people in extreme perspective, also.

New run animation

Simple four-legged run.

Missing some details, but should be recognizable. I'll need to do something relatively cleaned-up one day soon. ( read: within few years. )

It's not referenced, but I have seen a breakdown of a run before, a few years ago.

I've drawn a few portraits out of photos these last two days, but I can't really show them, wouldn't be proper if I did.

Last post contained a minor error, ByTheWay.
