Chiaroscuro and you seem to be good friends that get along well.
Or, I mean... maybe your impressionism is helped by the black and white. It looks good without having to add too much detail and lets you focus on the interesting parts of a drawing.
It's like dressing in black. It helps hide imperfections and accentuate the positive, sort of. :D
You could very well be right. I mean, impressionism is always close to my heart... although that's no excuse for lacking technical skills. In this case, I didn't have to draw the parts I - either - couldn't figure out, or didn't feel were relevant to the image. The final result is really something of a "rough concept", but it's out and not in my head.
