Indeed. This week( end, extended ) we found out why cities don't get overrun by high-level evil monsters, undead and whatnot.
Why don't they?
Because, when thousand peasants fire at a single target, they're bound to hit by pure dumb luck. 1 in 20 is still 50 arrows hitting per round.
